Read the following before using this archive.

1. This archive contains a file that belongs to the article at:

Use Grant Hinkson's Gradient panel to expose the numeric and color values of each gradient node, giving you the ability to edit complex gradients in Fireworks CS3.

2. To install the MXP file, you need Adobe Extension Manager, which you can download for free from Adobe.com. The Extension Manager comes with Adobe Fireworks CS3 and other Adobe products.

Open the Extension Manager and select the product in which you want to install the extension. Select Fireworks CS3 from the pop-up menu and then click the Install New Extension button.

Browse to the MXP file and click Install. Now follow the instructions ("Next", "Accept"). The extension should be installed and displayed in the Extension Manager list. You can click the installed extension to see details about it.

Installed location: Adobe Fireworks CS3\Configuration\Command Panels

3. Launch the panel from the Fireworks menu (Window > Gradient Panel).

4. Edit complex gradient fills with precision using a zoomable gradient node interface. For extreme precision, you can enter all values numerically. Buttons at the bottom of the panel let you switch between solid, linear, or radial fills and allow you to quickly orient the gradient either vertically or horizontally.

5. If you plan on exporting your object to Flash CS3 Professional, click the Make Flash Compatible button. This feature synchronizes color and opacity nodes, a requirement of Flash gradients.
